Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service. The Gravatar privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
After approval, your profile picture is visible with your comment.
Media
If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can extract location data from website images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email, and site in cookies for convenience. These last for one year.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies. It’s discarded on browser close.
Upon login, we set several cookies for login and screen settings. Login cookies last 2 days; screen option cookies last 1 year. “Remember Me” extends login to 2 weeks.
Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie stores the post ID. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data
Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely for recognition and approval of follow-ups. Registered users can edit or delete their data at any time (except username). Admins can also see and edit user info.
